Run a Weekly Reset and Review

A trusted, up-to-date task system and a realistic focus for the coming week.

The process

Work it in this order.

  1. Reserve a recurring 30–60 minute review block and gather calendars, notes, inboxes, and task lists.
  2. Capture loose commitments, ideas, and follow-ups from paper, messages, downloads, and memory into one inbox.
  3. Clarify each item as an actionable next step, a project, a reference item, something delegated, or something to discard.
  4. Review the previous and upcoming calendar for unfinished obligations, preparation needs, and deadlines.
  5. Review active projects one by one and ensure each has a concrete next action and, where relevant, an owner or date.
  6. Review waiting-for and someday/maybe lists; send needed follow-ups and deliberately activate or defer items.
  7. Choose a small set of weekly outcomes, schedule the most constrained work, and record one improvement for the next review.

Bring this

Inputs the cat will ask for.

  • current task and project lists
  • calendar access or exported agenda
  • inboxes and loose notes
  • constraints for the coming week

Router + one playbook

Route first. Choose one.

Cat Paw loads one playbook per task rather than merging several. Start with this router; the remaining paths are workflow-specific candidates it can inspect.

  • Router: skill-packs
  • skills/engineering/mattpocock/to-questionnaire/SKILL.md
  • skills/engineering/mattpocock/grill-me/SKILL.md

Guardrails

The boundaries travel with the prompt.

  • Do not silently delete or complete ambiguous commitments; ask the user to decide.
  • Treat the weekly plan as adjustable, not as a promise that every listed item will be finished.
  • Keep private messages and calendar details local unless the user explicitly authorizes sharing.

Done means

A checkable finish.

Every active project has a next action, calendar and waiting-for lists have been reviewed, and the coming week has named priorities and scheduled constraints.
