Create a Flexible Weekly Meal Plan

A practical week of meals that reflects household preferences, schedule, budget, and general balanced-eating guidance.

The process

Work it in this order.

  1. Collect household size, schedule, cooking capacity, budget, available foods, preferences, allergies, and clinician-provided restrictions.
  2. Choose the meals that actually need planning and mark high-constraint days that require leftovers or very quick options.
  3. Select familiar meal templates and aim for variety across food groups without assigning moral labels to foods.
  4. Plan intentional leftovers and ingredient reuse while keeping food-storage safety in view.
  5. Add breakfast, snack, and backup options only to the level of detail the household will use.
  6. Review the plan against time, equipment, cultural preferences, budget, and known restrictions, then let the user make substitutions.
  7. At week’s end, note what was eaten, wasted, enjoyed, or too burdensome and use that feedback for the next plan.

Bring this

Inputs the cat will ask for.

  • household schedule and size
  • budget and cooking capacity
  • food preferences and allergies
  • clinician-provided dietary restrictions if any

Router + one playbook

Route first. Choose one.

Cat Paw loads one playbook per task rather than merging several. Start with this router; the remaining paths are workflow-specific candidates it can inspect.

  • Router: skill-packs
  • skills/engineering/mattpocock/research/SKILL.md
  • skills/engineering/mattpocock/to-questionnaire/SKILL.md

Guardrails

The boundaries travel with the prompt.

  • Provide general planning support, not diagnosis, treatment, calorie prescriptions, or individualized medical nutrition therapy.
  • Allergies, eating disorders, pregnancy, pediatric needs, diabetes, kidney disease, and other medical constraints require advice from a qualified clinician or registered dietitian.
  • Never advise removing a food group or ignoring a clinician’s plan; flag urgent allergic symptoms for emergency care.

Done means

A checkable finish.

The user approves a realistic meal outline for the needed days, with substitutions, leftovers or backups, and known safety constraints represented.
